Aza Nedhari is a Midwife, a Family Counselor and the Executive Director/Co-founder of Mamatoto Village, a perinatal family support organization in Washington.
DC that has been successful in securing Medicaid Managed Care reimbursement for nonclinical perinatal support services. Aza has also designed a comprehensive Perinatal Health Worker training utilizing the community health worker model as a blueprint. Aza is currently pursing her Doctorate in Human Services with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Management with an eye towards cultivating innovative models of perinatal care delivery in high needs communities. Aza is currently working on legalizing Certified Professional Midwives in the District of Columbia.
